You are never too old or to inexperienced to begin. You are never too old to play.

I remember thinking it was too late for me to start a creative career. As a girl and teen, I always enjoyed drawing, acting and writing. But as I grew older, life and other obligations took up my time. My creative outlets got pushed to a very far and seldom visited corner.

It wasn’t until having my children six years ago that my creativity was awakened and given the space to open again.

I began painting and drawing for fun while my children napped. I also created watercolor art for friends and family and began to receive requests for nursery artwork. I opened a shop selling nursery and floral artwork and creating designs for children’s clothing.

While I still love creating art for children’s rooms and florals for the home, after awhile, I knew that my creative expression was ready to be deepened. I didn’t know how or what that looked like and I felt inadequate having never had any formal art training.

I felt began to feel restless urges every day to create outside of my comfort zone. To create from a soul place and to somehow incorporate my intuitive and empathic nature. But I didn’t know how to begin.

After lots of deep inner work and completion of a life changing course, I learned the tools to work with my shadow while listening to my intuition. It was time to jump into the unknown, embracing the magic of each moment and acting on my deepest calling.

We are never too old to begin. It’s about embracing the process, not just in our creative endeavors but in every moment. There is no end game. Life is NOW.

I am forever grateful for the opportunity to evolve, to experience whatever the moment brings and to create everyday knowing my art is an offering to the Universe from my heart and soul and that it’s all just a continuous work in progress.
